Coffee beans, or seeds as they are technically called, usually come in pairs of two and are called flat beans. However, our coffee from Tanzania is a "Peaberry" coffee, which means there is only one small, pea-like bean inside the fruit. Peaberries are usually separated from normal flat beans because they differ in size and texture and behave differently during the roasting process.
